Why Doesnt America Teach Financial Education in Schools?

When you look at the state of the economy in America and around the world who do not receive a financial education at school, its a wonder why its not taught in schools. We have learned some skills to get a job, but nobody tells us how to manage our wealth. If we cannot educate ourselves on what to do once we obtain our money, we are headed for a financial disaster.

Individual debt is growing 23 times faster than the economy. With the credit card debt in the U.S. over $ 750 million, people declare bankruptcy each year who graduate from college. People are even losing their homes and have no money to retire on. The average person today will require $ 1.5 million by 65 years of age to retire comfortably.

More and more people are looking for a way out of this cycle. People are getting frustated and are seeking to start a home based business. But without the financial education necessary to make the right decisions with their money, they will fail.

SDCCPRO is a program that is design to provide financial education. SDCCPRO teaches the fundamentals of marketing that can be used in any business to get more traffic and leads for your business. Wealth Masters International also teaches people what is not taught in school, like how to invest their money, which put the safety and way out of credit card debt and mortgages. He also teaches how to plan for retirement and saving for children's college funds and savings of emergency.

Is A Home Based Business Right For You?

More and more people are turning to a home based business to earn money and to get a better lifestyle. The reality is that very few people will actually be able to make enough money to fire their boss and even a high percentage of people will actually lose money.

I personally have experienced both failure and success in this business so I can actually share my experiences with you. Let 's focus on what people need to do to become successful.

1) Attitude Is Key.
Treat your business like a business, not a hobby. Your attitude is very important. You Got to believe in yourself and to visualize your success. There are some wonderful books available to help you achieve this. Or my favorite is listening to audio books. A great place to feed your mind is Audio.com.

2) A good Plan.
I always go by the famous quote, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. It's so true.
Learn to write a good plan and review it daily. Write down on a sheet of paper everything you want to achieve and how long you expect it will take. This list can consist of financial targets, places you want to visit, plans for your children. The key is to alway have a goal that will put hunger in your belly. Something to give you that drive, the commitment required to succeed.

3) Marketing Strategy.
You may have a fantastic product, but if you cannot tell people about it you are not going to sell a thing.
There are so many methods to market your products. The bottom line is if you do not learn to market your product correctly you risk almost certain failure.

Why? Because you will spend too much money on your marketing campaign and end up running out of cash. The flip side of the coin is that your marketing isn't effective. You can so go from one free method to another and never really learn any of it properly. If you have time on your side then this can work for you. However, a lot of people quite due to thinking the business model is flawed.

4) You need a good Business Model with great products.
You need products that sell at the low end of the scale and products that have a high ticket price. I have experienced firsthand how some companies comp plan takes years to get anywhere close to be able to sack your boss and work from home.

5) You need a great mentor.
A good mentor can shorten your learning curve hugely. Not only will this enable you to make money quickly, it will also help you avoid losing your shirt to expensive marketing strategies poorly executed. Having a great mentor and coach and copying what they did helps out greatly.

So in summary, how do we avoid failing in our home based business? All of the above of course.

Twitter is a great tool to get your target audience discover you, your business and your blog. It helps establish a link between you and your audience in a non-threatening way and can be a great part of your online marketing and social media marketing. Here are some of my tips and tricks to help you get massive amounts of Twitter followers.

  • Find people who you are interested in and that have a large amount of followers. This can be other Internet Celebrities like Frank Kern, Mike Dillard and me of course :-) @sdentrepreneur. If you want to follow local people, look for people or businesses in your area.
  • Once you have found people you want to follow, click on Followers and only follow the last 3 to 5 pages. These are the most active people who are on Twitter. You can only follow 300 to 500 per day.
  • Depending on your Twitter page, on average, 50% to 70% of people will follow you back. This can grow you followers greatly per day.
  • You may eventually run into your limit that Twitter allows, which is 10% over your Follower total.
  • To correct this, after adding people for several days in a row, stop adding people, wait 2 to 3 days to give people a chance to follow you back. Then go to www.huitter.com and you can mass unfollow people with one click.
  • Your next step is to use Social Oomph - www.SocialOomph.com Here you can set yourself up to Auto Follow People back, send Direct Messages to people who Follow you and set up AutoMated Tweets so that you can send messages 24/7.
  • Regarding these Automated messages, write your messages with keywords that you think people are searching for and that you want to connect with. You can use this service for free but I suggest using the Professional version if you are serious about your marketing plan.
  • You also want to sign up to www.Twellow.com which is the Yellow pages of Twitter. You can add yourself to an additional 10 categories by creating a free profile. You can also add all your other Social Media links like Facebook and YouTube here.
  • When on Twellow, go to the Twellowhood or Search window to follow people in your city.
  • For the advanced Internet Marketers reading this, you can create a RSS Feed withGoogle Alerts to follow blogs/articles that apply to keywords that are of interest to you and then use www.bit.ly to shorten the feed and then www.Twitterfeed.com to send this directly to Twitter. This way you won't just be pitching your web site and by providing good information, you establish yourself as a leader in your industry.
  • Add your Twitter URL to all your e-mail signatures and business cards.
  • Lastly, read one of my previous Blogs about How to use Twitter Properly, this will help you keep your new followers and add more.

Hope you enjoyed and got some solid information from this Blog. Please share and Retweet to your friends and followers.

It is very clear that the popularity of social media is increasing by the day. For sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, the fastest growing demographic consists of users 35 years and older. Though social media was once considered a fad for kids, it has become a viable marketing opportunity for business.

For the average user, social media is a way to connect with friends and family. For the business user, social media works by sharing compelling information to capture the attention of your target audience. When you do this well, you can count on generating website traffic, client leads and even media attention.

Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter revolve around the concept of a status update. When you update your status, everyone in your network can view what you have to say/post. This is where the real opportunity to establish yourself as a leader in your industry. Instead of updating your status to report that you are having dinner or that it's time to pick up your kids, share interesting status updates and watch the magic of social media explode.

Many people have said they never know what to say or to post. Below is 25 ideas of what you can post for your status updates on Social Media sites.

Type of Information to Post on Social Media Web Sites:

1. New blog posts

2. Someone else's blog post

3. Article you've written

4. Articles from somewhere else that you like

5. A video about you, almost like a video business card

6. A funny or controversial video

7. Before and after photos of work you've done

8. Fun photos of places you are or have been

9. Client success stories

10. Free ebook relating to your business

11. Upcoming events, like business mixers and happy hours

12. Live reports from an event you are currently attending

13. Book reviews

14. Recommended products, like cell phones and computers

15. Recommended services, such as great marketing guys like me :-)

16. Tips and tricks for doing something better

17. Recent media coverage you have received, like press release or article

18. Inspirational advice (preferably your own, motivational quotes are over-used online)

19. Breaking news alerts, you can get news out faster than new media

20. Requests for participation (ask for comments on your blog)

21. Contest announcements

22. Teleseminar/Webinar invitation

23. Special sales, offers and discounts (not too many)

24. A compelling question you want answered

25. Anything offered for free, people look to Social Media for free info

Guide to Success

1. Your status updates should appeal to your target audience and provide value. Also, it doesn't always have to be directly related to what you do. For example, a mortgage broker might share community resources, local event announcements and family-related tips. This type of information would likely be more appealing to the broker's target audience than current interest rates and articles about mortgage insurance (though you can occasionally include those too). The point is to become a valued resource.

2. Follow the 90/10 rule. Avoid selling online and you will achieve more sales. That's right; we're all tired of being sold to. When you provide value, you build loyalty and trust. It's fine to include sales offers up to 10 percent of the time, but make sure you are primarily serving up useful content.

3. Use interesting titles and descriptions. You only have a limited amount of space to share information which means that a good title can make the difference between a reader who clicks through or completely ignores your post.

4. Track your results through Google Analytics or Bit.Ly. Pay attention to user response. If you're receiving comments and your content is being forwarded to others (for example, retweeting on Twitter), that is evidence that your efforts are working. Also, your network should be growing steadily as a result of the value you're providing.

5. Don't over use hyper links. When you share compelling content, it provides an opportunity to link back to your website or blog. This is great for building website traffic. However, not every post needs to have a link. Mix up your posts so that some simply offer something short and sweet. You can also shorten links and track the number of click-throughs with a service like http://bit.ly.

5. Be consistent. You will get the best results from marketing content through social media by participating on a regular basis. Ideally you should share something every day, even multiple times per day, to stay visible. You can automate some of your updates with services like http://ping.fm, http://socialoomph.com. But don't automate everything!

6. Engage with your audience. Social media involves a two-way conversation. It's not just about posting data out into your network and waiting to reap the rewards. Reply to people who comment, forward and share useful content from others and make sure you have a human presence in social media land. Think of it as being at a global business mixer, you don't walk up to the first person at the event and try to sell them something.

7. Build a social media plan. A plan should identify your target audience, include a strategy for ongoing content generation, should identify frequency of updates and indicate the amount of time and resources you are going to allocate to managing your social media strategy. Ask others for input or solicit the help of a social media expert. There is opportunity for every kind of business to benefit from social media. You simply need to find the strategy that works for your business.
