As 2010 is coming to a fast end, I’m sitting in my office wondering where did the time go? I look around and reflect on all my uncompleted goals. From my cluttered desk to my over stuffed cabinets. My unorganized office is just a reminder of things that need to be done. It’s the little goals that never get done. Let alone the big ones that I haven’t even brought up.

I decided for 2011 IT WILL be different. As God as my witness I WILL achieve my goals. At the end of 2011 I wont be sitting here with the same thoughts as with 2010.

First you have sit down and write out your goals. Goals cant say stuff like “lose weight”. Goals have to be written out very specific. You have to have a time fame for the goals. And you have to be realistic on your goals. Saying something like “I will walk 30mins a day to reach my goal of 170 by Dec. 31st. If goals are not totally set out by you, it’s not going to be completed. So instead of saying “Buy a new house.” You say, “I’m putting $100.00 a week away towards my new house. I will cut back on coffee and no going out to eat. By the end of this year I will have a down payment of $5200.00.”

Take the time and really think about what you want to accomplish. Write it down and do it! I wish you all the luck in the coming new year.

Some people think that speaking in public is one trait of leadership. Many great leaders were known for their public speaking ability. Some leaders of today are known more for their rhetoric speeches. Even if you don’t possess this ability, it’s easily learned. You can take a public speaking course to improve your skills. But the best way to improve your skill is to actually get up and speak in front of people.

Every chance you get to talk in front of people, take it. Whether it is at church or a family event. The more practice you get, the better you will be. Start out by speaking in front of a little group. Than you can move on to bigger groups. Eventually you wont be counting how many people are in front of you.I have listed a few tips that might help you when you are giving a speech in front of a crowd:

1.When you speak in public make sure your voice to flow normally like if you were talking to someone. Your tone drifts up at the end of questions and keeps one tone on sharp points.

2.You want to pause at moments. Giving time to the listener lets them think about what was said.

3. Always keep eye contact with the people you are talking to. Not just on one person, but on everyone.

4. Have a good body posture. People are looking at you. Your body posture is very important.

5. Relax and breathe normally. Even though you are nervous, don’t show it.

6. Smile. Make sure you smile.

7. Practice Practice Practice. The more you practice, the smoother you will be.I hope these help you.

I find myself being asked all the time to give speeches. You never know you might find yourself in the same boat. Just be ready.

Now is the time for entrepreneurs to lead the way out of our stressful economy. Unemployment is on the rise and the state is under financial burden, so the call to all entrepreneurs is loud and clear. Are you an entrepreneur?

Do you do your thinking in the future? To dig our way out of this crisis, we need to think past the old ways of doing business. We need forward thinking with new technologies. Someone that can think in the future. Going against the gain wouldn’t hurt either.

If you don’t have a job and are looking for one, starting your own business might just be the craziest idea you’ve had. But you might find it not so crazy after all. It’s a way to occupy your time and a way to have motivation to discover something new. This will help you to get your mind off of the negative thinking. You want to remain positive about everything you do. Even if you feel like you should be somewhere else at this time in your life. Being unemployed means that you will have to stick to your budget. Having low overhead and realistic goals. This will be hard, but it can be done.

Just keep your mind focused and your goals in your sight. Start by setting up goals, and completing them one at a time. Many people have started where you are and have become entrepreneurs. The hardest part is starting. Once you start you are half ways there. Let’s start and get the economy out of debt.

What is the meaning of leadership? Leadership call be described as a way of leading or described as an ability to change human behavior to achieve goals. It can also be considered as an extraordinary quality to have. Someone having this quality can easily navigate other people. This quality can have the ability to inspire or to influence many people.

Leadership can be developed by training, studying, or from experience. If you are the boss, doesn’t mean that you are the leader. A boss simply manages the tasks that they are giving. Leaders influence the workers to want to achieve the tasks on their own. They apply values and beliefs behind their work. They motive employees to do the work and to work as a team. Good leadership is someone who has the character of giving selflessly. People want to follow leaders that are trustworthy.

Leadership can also be in the person’s personality. Sometime it might just arise in a serious event. You might not even know you had it in you until you really need it. A way to improve your leadership is to do self-improvements. Take on the responsibilities. Find ways to make your business run smoother. Don’t find someone to blame when something goes wrong. Take care of your employees and put them in the best position for them. Figure out what their best quality is and position them there.

As a leader you have to make decisions rather quickly. Be very sure of your decisions. Don’t show fear or hesitations.

My Three Rules On How To Set Goals

Every new year is a good time to sit down and set goals for yourself or for your business. Goals are the backbone of life. It gives us direction and
a sense of purpose. It keeps you on track and from straying from your destination. I came up with my three rules on how to set goals. I hope this
will help you out as it helps me.

You have to be positive when you set your goals. This is very important. Always focus on the positive side of what you want. Don't let any negative
thoughts in. Write them down as positive as you can. Like instead of saying "By age 50, I will not have any physical deficiencies (negative)," you
could say, "By age 50, I will still be in tip top shape (positive)." You will stay motivated by the positive way of thinking.

My number two rule is to be specific in what you set your goals at. Like don't say "i want to a new job", you say "I want to become an editorial at a
fashion magazine." If you don't be specific you don't have a commitment to the goals. You sell yourself short. And don't settle for coming close to
your goals. You are in this for the long haul. It is your life.

Number three rule is you think in the present tense. Subconscious plays a huge role when it comes to your goals coming true. So you write down
your goals in present forms. Like "I am making it big in the industry", not "I will make it big". You push it away by saying "I will".
Setting goals are very important but setting them effectively is even more important. You have to be positive in your thinking and in your goals
setting. Always write your goals down and say them through out the day.

How can you determine whether you can be a successful entrepreneur, or are you destined to work for somebody else? There is no exact formula for success. Most successful entrepreneurs share these ten strategies. Read thru these ten strategies for successful entrepreneurs below and see which ones apply to you.

1. Have successful thoughts. To achieve the kind of success that you want, you need to dream big. You need to have big dreams for yourself You need to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve. But it doesn’t stop in dreaming alone. You should actively visualize success in your mind so that you can almost feel it, touch it or have it within your reach. Play this image back at every opportunity. What would it feel to double your current income? How will your life change for the better? What will your business look like if you achieved the million dollar mark? Successful entrepreneurs possess an attitude of openness and faith that they can have what you want if you can simply envision it as the first step on the path of action to acquiring it.

2. Love what you do. You start a business to change part of your life. To attain this change, you need to develop or uncover your personal passion to change the way things are and to live life to the fullest. Success comes easily if you are passionate with what you do. Why? We are more relentless in our pursuit of goals about things that we love. If you hate your job right now, do you think you will ever be successful at it? You may plod along, even become competent at the tasks, but you will never be a great success at it. You will achieve peak performance and do what you have to do to succeed only if you are doing something that interests you or something that you care about. Entrepreneurs who succeed do not mind the fact that they are putting in 15 or 18 hours a day to their business because they absolutely love what they do. Success in business is all about patience and hard work, which can only be attained if you are passionate and crazy with your tasks and activities.

3. Concentrate on your strengths. It’s not possible to be everything to everybody. Each of us has our own strengths and weaknesses. To be successful, you need to identify your strengths and focus on it. You will be more effective if you are able to channel your efforts to areas that you do best. In business, for example, if you know you have good marketing instincts, then harness this strength and make full use of it. Seek help or assistance in areas that you may be poor at, such as accounting or bookkeeping. To transform your weakness to strength, consider taking hands-on learning or formal training.

4. Never consider failure. As an entrepreneur, you need to fully believe in your goals and yourself, and that you can do it. Know that what you are doing will contribute to the betterment of your environment and your personal self. You should have strong faith in your ideas, your capabilities and yourself. You must believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have the ability to recognize and fulfill them. The more you can develop faith in your ability to achieve your goals, the more rapidly you can attain it.

5. Make Proper Plans. You have a vision, and you have enough faith in yourself to believe that you can achieve your vision. But do you know how to get to your vision? You need to have concrete goals that will provide the stepping-stone towards your ultimate success. Put your goals in writing and plan each day in such a way that your every action contributes to this. Intense goal orientation is the characteristic of every successful entrepreneur. They have a vision, and they know how to get there. Your ability to set goals and make plans for your accomplishment is the skill required to succeed. Plan, plan and plan because without which failure is guaranteed.

6. Work harder than ever before. Every successful entrepreneur works hard, very hard. Ask any successful businessperson and they will tell you immediately that they had to work more than 60 hours per week at the start of their businesses. Be prepared to say goodbye to after-office drinks every day, or a regular weekend get-away trip. If you are in a start-up phase, you will have to breathe, eat and drink your business until it can stand on its own. Working hard will be easy if you have a vision, clear goals, and are passionate with what you do.

7. Find New Ways to Network. Businesses always need assistance, more so small businesses, you need to possess good networking skills and always be alert to opportunities to expand your contacts. You may meet someone at a trade association meeting who can help you secure funding, or someone at a conference who can provide you with management advise. It is important to form alliances with people who can help you, and whom you can help in return.

8. Be Willing To Learn. You do not need to be a MBA degree holder or PhD graduate to succeed in your own business. In fact, there are a lot of entrepreneurs who did not even graduate High School and studies have shown that most self-made millionaires have average intelligence. Nonetheless, they have achieved their goals in business because they are willing to study and learn – especially with the amount of new technology and the ever-changing ways of doing business.

9. Keep your faith. No one said that the road to success is easy. Despite your good intentions and hard work, sometimes you will fail. Some very successful entrepreneurs have suffered setbacks and resounding defeats, even bankruptcy, yet refocused and rebounded. You must learn to pick yourself up and start again. Your persistence is the measure of the belief in yourself. Remember, if you keep your faith, you will achieve your goals.

10. Self discipline “Do what you should do, when you should do it, whether you like it or not.” (Thomas Huxable) Self-discipline is the key to being successful. It’s not an easy lesson to learn but once you set your mind to your goal, and focus, focus, focus, you can achieve your dream.

Learning these ten strategies for successful entrepreneurs is not for everybody, there are some of you that prefer to work for someone else the rest of your lives.

How Do You Become A Leader?

Ever asked yourself what is leadership? Some people just have the mindset to be leaders. Being a leader usually brings success into their business. If you can develop this mindset, you can welcome success into your business as well.

To become a leader you have to know what you are doing. You have to demonstrate it by performing the chores that you will be showing others. If you have the skill and can demonstrate it, then you can become a leader. You can go on and teach to others.

To develop the leadership mindset you need to learn all you can about the opportunity at hand. This is self-developing. You work on your knowledge and your mindset. You do research and get all the information you need to do this. The more you self-develop, the more you become a value to other people.

You always want to push yourself. Don’t be comfortable on what you have at the moment. You stay hungry and always reach for that new level. Every leader keeps reaching. Every runner keeps running. Every fighter keeps fighting. Every quarterback keeps throwing.

Once you reach the point where you want to be. You learn to have gratitude and generosity. You show your gratitude by showing and teaching others. Instead of the student, you become the teacher. This only brings you luck.

To become a good effective leader you need the desire and willpower. Leaders are developed with hard work and determination. Leaders continue to train to get more experience.

Leaders have to inspire workers to become a team and to stay a team. This takes leaders to have to be always studying, and working to improve their leadership skills. Just like captains on a football team are the first one on the field and the last one to leave. This attitude makes you a leader not a boss. The difference is leadership influences and directs others as to being a boss just tells people what to do. Leaders carry on with values, knowledge, beliefs, and skills. This makes people want to follow to achieve goals rather than just doing it.

People in general observe leaders to see if they're a trusted leader or someone who misuses authority. Leaders have people that follow not people who just obey them. This in turn makes leaders look good to higher levels. Good leadership is selflessness to your job or sport. In your employees or teammates eyes your leadership reflects them. You know the job at hand and you know what to do to get it done. Whether it be motivated or directed.

People want to follow who they respect and who know where they are going. To gain respect, you have to earn respect. A good leader has a strong vision of the future.

A Successful Business Should Have These Qualities

It doesn't matter what kind of business you own, anything from a shoe store to a restaurant. To be successful you need to have some good qualities. I list a few of them for you. Take a look. Let me know what you think.

1. Passion as if it is your business – Being in a line of work that you like best will ensures that you are motivated from the word go. If you do what you enjoy, you will remain motivated even in the face of challenges that you encounter day to day. You will be motivated to come up with new ideas. You will have sincerity to put in the time and energy it needs to build a successful business.

2. Believe in the Power of planning – Good planning is an important part of building up a successful business. Planning your business makes you think of the future. You would have to research and process facts and data to base your future on. This will lead you to make more rational decisions. Planning is like a map and a compass to a navigator. Without it, you may become lost.

3. Appreciate the value of money management – Money management helps you meet daily expenses with better cash flow. This in turn earns profits over a period of time. Good cash flow management is another important part to a business. That's what lets you buy inventory, pay your bills, advertise, and sustain your business operations.

4. The knowledge of use of technology to compete better – You don't want to overuse technology, but it allows entrepreneurs to maintain a lot of their business operations efficiently. The Internet is today's level playing field for both small and big businesses.

5. The desire to keep on learning – You don't want to miss an opportunity to learn more. Whether it's by theirs' or others' experiences. You attend workshops and trade association meetings. You read anything you put your hands on. This habit helps you to stay informed and gives you ideas to solve business problems.

6. The insight to value your customers – You need to make sincere efforts to the changing customer needs, and to improve offerings to address them. Maintaining good customer relationships helps them to keep customer loyalty and to acquire new customers.

The Five Lessons On Leadership

Leadership is a tough job, that needs to be done right. If not done right, it can lead matters badly. Leaders guilds and shows people the way. Leaders work with people to find direction. Leaders have to have confidence to excel. Leaders are always being watch by subordinates so you have to maintain a professional position. I list a few lessons to help you out.

The first lesson on leadership is the vision on the over all picture. Leaders work on the vision to achieve the goal, as followers don't. Leaders need to be clear communicators to share the vision with others. Also knowing them how to get it done from others as well. When leaders have values and virtues this sets off self esteem and pride in others.

The second lesson is the understanding of the mission at hand and heading toward the future with courage. Courage is a virtue that makes the leaders face combat without fear. Leaders act boldly and develop the courage to make progress in the vision. Followers are the people that filled with suspicion, that they will be limited only take orders. Leadership maintains a clear written goal and an action plan.

The third lesson is the realism that enables leaders to see the world as a reality. Leaders observe the objectives, the strengths and the weaknesses in every thing they do. Truthfulness in every action, walking, talking or breathing leads to leadership Existing in truth is the foundation of leadership and makes this an important quality.

The fourth lesson deals with taking responsibility. Leaders take responsibility themselves. They do not fall back or expect others to do things for them. They offer no excuses nor do they blame others. They also do not complain or explain if they find the situation unsatisfactory. Leaders simply take the responsibility and accomplish it. They even volunteer their time to get things done.

The fifth lesson to leadership is to set the mind to stay firm. Leadership is exercise by motivation and explaining the situation, praising other people work, solving problems, and yet trying to be firm without being submissive or authoritative.
